A question that is often asked is "When do Orchids bloom?"

There are 2 answers:

Answer #1 - Almost all orchids have a definite blooming season. The plants are triggered by temperature, length of daylight, seasonal rainfall, and possibly a host of other factors.

Here in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, orchids can be found in bloom just about every day of the year.

Answer #2 - A few orchids will bloom whenever they feel like it. It is not known what triggers the blooming cycle, and that is one of the things that make those species so interesting and unique.
